Welcome to Crew 270's Website

Welcome to the Website of Venturing Crew 270 in Thurmont, Maryland

Venturing Crew 270 is a co-ed organization for young men and women, ages 14 through 20 (or 13 and graduated the 8th grade), who want opportunities to explore the outdoors, develop character, and perform community service. We are sponsored by the Thurmont Community Ambulance Service but are not part of the ambulance company.

Our regular activities include but are not limited to:

  • Meeting and program on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m.  We currently meet in the upstairs meeting room of the Ambulance Co. at 27 N. Church St. in Thurmont.
  • At least one outdoor adventure or training activity per month.
  • Occasional community service projects.
All members of Crew 270 should register on the Web site so that we can upgrade your membership status to 'Author'.  This will allow you to see content not available to non-Crew members, submit articles to the Web site and keep your information up to date.

Important Notes

Meeting Night & Time: The Business Meeting is the 3rd Wednesday night of the month from 7:00PM - 9:00PM, 2nd floor of the Thurmont Community Ambulance Service building (27 North Church St.) and activities will be conducted per whatever the calendar says.

Important Upcoming Meeting: August 26th, 2012 at Mr. Place's house. BBQ and Annual Planning meeting where we will plan all the events and activities between September 2012 through December 2013!

RECRUIT!  The crew is in need of new members and is urging all current members to talk to their friends and encourage them to come to a crew event and see what Venturing is all about. Questions about Venturing? Call 301-712-6888 and talk with the Advisor, David Place.
